Professor Miquel A. Pericàs was born in Palma de Mallorca (Spain) in 1951. In 2000 he was appointed as the Founding Director of the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ), a position he held until September 2020. He is now an “ad honorem” professor at Universitat Rovira i Virgili and a permanent academician of the Royal Academy of Sciences and Arts of Barcelona.

The major research interest of Miquel A. Pericàs has been focused on enantioselective catalysis in batch and flow with immobilized species (340 peer reviewed publications, h index = 59).

Cecilia Bottecchia received her M.Sc. degree in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technologies from the University of Milan in 2014. After her undergraduate studies, Cecilia joined the group of Prof. Timothy Noël at the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands, working on photocatalysis in continuous‐flow. After earning her PhD in 2019, she then joined the flow team within Process Research and Development at MSD in Rahway, NJ (USA) where she currently works as Principal Scientist continuing to develop continuous flow methods for process chemistry.
